If you want advanced voice pedagogy training without having to go back to grad school – and you want to experience the techniques in your own voice at the same time – this program is designed for you.
Here are a few questions to help you figure out if this program is right for you…

What opportunities do I want in my professional life?
Do I currently have the skills I need to get me where I want to go?
Will advanced voice pedagogy training lead me closer to the dreams I have for myself? And do I enjoy learning new things?
What is my commitment level to my own growth on a scale of 1-10?
Can I picture myself reading, studying, discussing, practicing, playing (or learning to play) exercises on the piano, reading music (or learning how to read music), applying what I’m learning to my teaching and my singing, etc?
Can I picture working with singers? And can I see myself caring about their growth as much as they do?
If these questions leave you hungry for more, this program may be exactly what you’ve been looking for.

Confidently work with a variety of singers - different voice types, different experience/coordination levels, different styles/genres, etc
Learn how to balance the vocal system and understand how they all work together - so your singers feel great as they create vibrant, healthy sound
Discover the hidden elements that keep singers stuck - and learn effective strategies to help them sing at levels beyond what they've ever experienced
Create a strategic PROCESS of voice habilitation (helping singers increase their vocal facility) - in a way that's customized based on each singer's individual physiology, goals and personality (so you don't fall into the trap of teaching to an aesthetic or caricature of sound)
Identify the differences between training different types of vocalisms (head voice, various mixes, belts, etc) and learn how to cross train singers across vocalisms for max results
Understand the engineering that goes into great vocalises/exercises - so you can assess the assets and liabilities of any exercises you encounter - and - pair the right exercises with the right singers
Design and engineer original vocalises for your own singers - using your knowledge of voice to create the most meaningful training experiences for your singers
Choose repertoire for your singers like a craftsman, approaching it from a developmental point of view - so you keep them up-leveling their skills (not just reinforcing the problematic habits that have kept them where they are)
Collect a huge repertoire of cutting edge tools and strategies - so you quickly and effectively get to the root of a vocal issue (not just address the symptoms)
Train your ear to recognize subtle clues in the sound and understand how those accompanying details in the sound indicate how well the voice is functioning; and learn how to use those clues to guide your work with a singer
Build confidence talking about the voice and singer development with other colleagues in the field
Work on your own voice - so your own inner artist gets to thrive as you experience increased vocal freedom in your own voice
As you progress in skill as a voice technician, you'll be able to work with higher level singers, a wider variety of singers and your professional rate will increase

All topics related to singing are on the table. In this program, you’ll explore topics like anatomy, physiology, acoustics and learning and development theory. You’ll examine singer development frameworks, explore a variety of vocalisms and investigate the principles behind singer coordination assessments, vocal exercise design, as well as repertoire assessment and repertoire assignment. There are opportunities to further cultivate a discerning ear, towards a greater awareness of how even the subtlest of details in the sound can be used as clues to guide positive action – so the sound clues indicating freedom and release are not confused with those indicating stress in the system.
We are passionate about taking a developmental perspective. The voice is extremely flexible and can deliver all kinds of sound “products” in the moment, but not all sound products are created equal.
We are fiercely dedicated to the study of singer development – how singers enhance their vocal color palette while creating sound in a way that leaves them more and more functionally free.
We spiral through all of these topics to go deeper and deeper with each iteration because it is in the synergy of all of these systems that masterful and joyful singers are developed.
